Interplanetary Magnetic Field (Bz/Bt)
Current interplanetary magnetic field readings at L1 from NOAA SWPC: total field strength Bt and the north-south component Bz in nanotesla, with timestamp. A strongly southward Bz is the single best short-term predictor of geomagnetic storming, because it couples solar wind energy into Earth's magnetosphere.
